Today I had a massive day of fundraiser-shooting with the North Shore Multiples Club which meant photographing 18 wonderful families over 9 hours on Auckland's North Shore. I genuinely really enjoy these days, but today was also Ash's first day of playing Ripper Rugby. This morning there were tears (by me - not him ha!) at the fact I would miss his first game. As a working mama there is always mama's guilt, its a fine balance between working to support my family, and also being there emotionally to support my kids. Its a rollercoaster of emotions that I know many of my clients struggle with too as I've had numerous conversations with many of you on this topic. Today was just unlucky - these fundraiser days were booked months in advance and I didn't realise until a week ago that his first game fell on the same day.
Thankfully Ash didn't miss me at all. In fact the little 'ripper' went on to win Player of the Day for his first ever game, an accomplishment I am so incredibly proud of. Well done my little man and thank you hubby for taking photos for me so I didn't miss all of it - another reason to get the camera out - to make the moments count that you may not have even been there to witness
